A budding social worker, a public speaking enthusiast and an aspiring diplomat, Stella is passionate about bringing a positive impact by creating and promoting equitable and equal opportunities in leadership for people from diverse walks of life. Leadership and Public Speaking, and Human Rights & Diplomacy form the core of her life’s purpose and she hopes to use these skills ultimately for various peacebuilding efforts within communities.
She has a Bachelors in social work and is currently pursuing her Diploma in Counselling and Psychology. She is also preparing to apply for a Masters in International Relations.
Stella is a multi-tasker and is currently pursuing remote internships at two organizations in the USA in addition to her leadership and development roles locally and internationally. A summary is given below:
1) Women in Crisis Response, a civil society organization based in Massachusetts, USA that builds capacity in gender and intersectionality focused human, peace, and security efforts for resiliency building within communities. And 2. Global Peace Women Headquarters, also based in USA, a non-profit organization that promotes peace by empowering women leaders and supporting women-led projects in more than 16 countries
Speaking, and L&D engagements: Facilitating and coordinating Moral and Innovative leadership development programs at Global Peace Foundation Nepal, an NGO that promotes an innovative, values-based approach to peacebuilding. She was recently appointed as the President of Harvard Toastmasters Club where she strives to provide a supportive leadership for the club’s activities and growth.
Accomplishments: Some of her past accomplishments include internship at the Public Affairs Section of U.S. Embassy in Nepal and as a member at U.S. Embassy Youth Council Nepal where she worked on 2 diverse Civic Engagement Projects, Project Ampli-fire and Project Acceptance- that aimed to promote youth leadership through impactful public speaking and empowerment of LGBT+ community locally.
Over the years, she has had the privilege to conduct leadership programs for diverse participants aged 15 to 50 through collaboration with organizations like Blind Youth Association Nepal, Mic for Youths, Psychbigyaan Network Nepal, Rotaract Club of Ahemdabad Narol, Federation of Sexual and Gender Minorities Nepal, etc. She was a guest Speaker at virtual panel discussion on ‘Contemporary Youth Issues’ organized by SAARC Youth Council.
Stella has won several accolades in contests like ‘Art of Speaking Championship’ and Inter- College Debate competitions. She has participated in various leadership trainings and empowering conferences nationally and internationally in USA, Sri Lanka and Thailand. As a freelance emcee, she has hosted a wide range of events including TedxYouth, Glocal Teen Hero Award Gala, Women with Vision Awards, Capacity Building for Peace Builders, etc.
She sincerely hopes to justify the philosophical meaning behind her name Stella- which means ‘Star’.
